ACTIVE ITALY: JOURNEY OF TRAILS & TASTES
The classic Italy itinerary for clients who travel on their feet.
The journey
Eleven days from Naples up to Florence and Rome — connected by high-speed train and private transfers. A hike on Mt. Vesuvius with a tasting of volcanic wines, the Path of the Gods on the Amalfi cliffs, an e-bike ride from Florence up to Fiesole, a full day exploring the Cinque Terre, a private walk along the ancient Appian Way in Rome, and a golf cart food tour through Testaccio. The classic Italy route, lived through trails and the flavors that follow them.
Highlights
- Mt. Vesuvius hike with volcanic wine tasting Climb to the crater of one of the world's most famous volcanoes, then taste wines grown on its slopes — black-soil reds and whites only this volcano can produce.
- Path of the Gods cliffside trek A guided walk along Italy's most legendary coastal trail — high above the Amalfi Coast, between Positano and the Mediterranean horizon.
- E-bike adventure to Fiesole Pedal up from Florence to Fiesole on an electric bike — Tuscan hills, vineyard views, olive-oil tasting at a local producer. Active without being exhausting.
- Cinque Terre, full day A guided full-day journey through the five villages by train and ferry, with lunch on the coast. The Cinque Terre lived properly, not rushed.
- Appia Antica private walking tour A walk down Rome's most ancient road — basalt stones, ruins, umbrella pines. Rome's open-air archaeological park, far from the city's crowds.
- Wine windows of Florence A guided walk through Florence's hidden 17th-century wine hatches — reopened during Covid and now a small lens on the city's side history.
- Sorrento winery with pizza tasting Wine tasting paired with traditional pizza at Sorrento's only historic winery — a peninsula's flavors in one place.
- Rome by golf cart with Testaccio Market A 3.5-hour food tour through Rome's neighborhoods, including Testaccio Market. Tastings, stories, no walking — the right way to end an active trip.

Selling tips
- Active without being a trekking trip This isn't an extreme adventure — it's classic Italy lived on foot and by bike. A hike on Vesuvius, a walk on the Path of the Gods, an e-bike to Fiesole. Active enough to feel earned, accessible enough for any reasonably fit traveler. The angle for clients who want movement, not exhaustion.
- The taste angle that comes with every trail Every active experience pairs with a tasting — volcanic wine after Vesuvius, pizza and wine after Path of the Gods, olive oil after the Fiesole e-bike, lunch on the Cinque Terre coast. Active travelers who also love food and wine — this is the tour for them.
- Italy through landscape, not just landmarks Most Italy itineraries sell cities. This one sells the views between them — the Vesuvius crater, the Amalfi cliffs, the Tuscan hills, the Cinque Terre coast, the Appian Way. A clear differentiator for clients who want Italy's geography as much as its history.
